it really brought it all home for me. i have a ship log and some pictures of my grandpa when he was in this war. it was so interesting to see what was going on in the rest of the war while following along with where he was at the time. |

I expected Babe to die, it seemed to be moving in that direction. The episode took a positive turn with breaking off the beach head, his letters were upbeat, then his sister was reading her letter to him... then I knew what was coming next. :( |

And the major who can never again see a Thanksgiving dinner without breaking down was almost too much. So much of this I never stopped to think about before. And the desecration of the dead by some of the Allied soldiers, wow. I never realized there were so many unnecessary excursions with no tactical value that ended up being places to be mowed down in. Yep, great episode, FUBAR indeed! |
